With a career spanning over two decades, Laura Tsaggaris is a versatile singer-songwriter whose emotionally charged music blends elements of folk, pop, and rock. From the release of her debut album Proof to her more recent projects, Tsaggaris has built a loyal fan base and earned critical acclaim for her heartfelt lyrics, compelling voice, and dynamic live performances. In addition to her musical endeavors, Tsaggaris is also a passionate educator and community advocate, dedicated to inspiring and mentoring the next generation of musicians.


Laura’s 50+ song catalog spans the genres of folk, Americana, alt-country, blues, rock, and pop. Her band consists of drums, bass, electric guitar, keyboard, and synth.

As The Washington Post once noted about Tsaggaris, “When a singer-songwriter builds an array of songs, often arising from a solid pop foundation with a splash of blues, a touch of rock and a hint of soul, that affirms a genuine musical gift.” 

One of the most respected and dynamic artists in the D.C. music scene, Laura Tsaggaris has spent two decades blending folk, pop, and rock into a sound uniquely her own. Her 2005 release of Proof marked the beginning of a remarkable musical journey, one that has included critically acclaimed albums, extensive touring, and a diverse range of creative projects. From her earliest performances in Washington, D.C. to her subsequent national tours, Tsaggaris has captivated audiences with her heartfelt lyrics and emotionally charged performances.

Following the success of Proof (listen to the title track here: ‘proof”) Tsaggaris quickly gained recognition as an artist with staying power. Her second album, Keep Talking (2009), built on the foundations of her debut, adding a new pop-rock side as heard on the opener “Warning Signs.” Tsaggaris played venues across the United States, earning praise for her live performances and ability to connect with audiences on a personal level. In 2013, Tsaggaris enlisted the help of industry heavy-hitters in Los Angeles for her third album, EVERYMAN. The record was a turning point, featuring some of her most mature vocal performances to date (listen to: “Dig,” “Traffic Stops”) and debuting to a sold-out audience at The Hamilton Live in DC.
The following years revealed a live album ( listen to Live At The Atlas), a playful Christmas album and annual show based on her holiday original (listen to Get In The Mood), and a social justice protest song (listen to “Lead Me”).

Tsaggaris is a fellowship grant recipient of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities since 2019.

Beyond her recording career, Tsaggaris has been deeply involved in the Washington, D.C. music community. In 2009, she began teaching music and songwriting to private students and at local schools and organizations, sharing her knowledge and passion with the next generation of musicians. Her teaching career in D.C. has had a lasting impact, inspiring hundreds of students and emerging artists in the city.

In 2021, Tsaggaris co-founded Rock The Hill (www.rockthehilldc.com) with her partner and fellow professional musician Stephen Leroy. A rock music education program, Rock The Hill gives young people in D.C. the tools and confidence to express themselves through music. The program focuses on fostering creativity, collaboration, and musical skills among youth, while also providing them with the opportunity to perform in front of live audiences.
