Give back on the most generous day of the year: Join Scenic Rivers Land Trust, Save Our Trees, and Chesapeake Bay Foundation on GivingTuesday as we remove English ivy at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center campus in Annapolis!
This year, Scenic Rivers is celebrating #GivingTuesday by partnering with Save Our Trees and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation for a day of action!
Join us for a special Healthy Forests workday dedicated to removing English ivy from the trees on one of Scenic Rivers’ conservation easements—the Philip Merrill Environmental Center campus!
Event Details
Volunteers will be working on designated sections of the conservation easement area to remove English ivy from trees.
Volunteers will be trained in how to identify and remove English ivy.
Work gloves and tools can be provided by Scenic Rivers and Save Our Trees, though volunteers are welcome to bring their own gear.
BONUS! After the workday, stick around for a pizza lunch and an optional behind-the-scenes tour of CBF’s award-winning green building!
To participate, volunteers must:
- Wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Poison ivy is present in these work areas.
- Bring a full water bottle.
Controlling invasive plant infestations is a big job and we are excited to work alongside Save Our Trees and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to give back to our community on the most generous day of the year!
