Join Hammond-Harwood House Curator, Lucinda Dukes Edinberg in a lunchtime lecture on the current exhibition In the Shadow of a Legacy: The Peale Women Painters.

Learn about the women artists in the family, their training and their subjects including miniatures, still lifes and portraits created between 1823 and 1885. These women are recognized as among the first professional women painters in America.
