Join Townsville Hike & Explore this Easter Monday for an adventurous and rewarding hike to Mount Burrumbush (Feltham Cone). This intermediate-level hike offers a mix of bushwalking, granite climbs, and stunning panoramic views across one of the region’s most unique landscapes.

⛰️ About the Hike

Mount Burrumbush, also known as Feltham Cone, is located southeast of Townsville near Giru, surrounded by the beautiful Wongaloo Cromarty Wetlands. This striking twin cone formation rises from the landscape, offering incredible views and a memorable hiking experience.

The area is rich in natural and cultural history, with Aboriginal art sites scattered throughout the region and remnants of historical aircraft crash sites nearby. From the granite outcrops, you’ll enjoy sweeping views across the wetlands, towards Cape Cleveland and the Haughton River.

Please note: Access to this area is via private property, and appropriate permissions are required and arranged for this hike.

📍 Meeting Details

Location: Annandale Shopping Centre (KFC Carpark)

Time: 8:00 AM sharp

Safety briefing and carpooling arrangements will take place before departure

Approx. 30-minute drive to the start point

Please be on time and update your RSVP if you can no longer attend. Carpooling is encouraged to reduce environmental impact and traffic.
