A2SF welcomes back the indie folk-pop stylings of Frontier Ruckus. Informed by country, power pop, and bluegrass, Frontier Ruckus makes music that is as poignant as it is accessible, crafting detailed representations of the glorious yet grim minutiae of Midwestern suburban life. The obsessively crafted lyrical world of songwriter Matthew Milia is sonically expanded by the instrumental contributions of David Jones and Zachary Nichols, colorful extensions of Milia’s literary vignettes. From Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo to the intimate living rooms of fans, the group’s chemistry has helped them garner a dedicated following across the world. After taking a hiatus, the band has now released their 6th album On the Northline, a lyrically dense and melodically lovely collection of songs that further explore Milia’s fascination and deliver more of the magic that led AllMusic to deem Frontier Ruckus “one of the best things to come out of Michigan since Faygo Redpop.” Don’t miss what’s sure to be a captivating set at Top of the Park this summer!
