We will roast Chestnuts and crack the code on American Black Walnuts, the green mystery nut that few have tasted.  Techniques for making and using Hickory Nut Milk will be demonstrated.  Native wild nuts were an abundant food that helped tide families over in the cold months. Learn how to identify, store and prepare this rich fall bounty as people have been doing for thousands of years. 

Kids can roast fall treats, share stories, and play in the Historic Log Cabin.  

Feel free to dress up in your best 1800's attire and bring nuts from home if you want to get crackin'.
