- **Event Description**: Join us for the West Coast Culinary Symposium (WCCS) 2025! Are you fascinated by historical culinary arts, food, and brewing? Eager to dive into the origins of pre-17th Century cuisine, whether hands-on in the kitchen or in a classroom with others who share your passion? The Kingdom of Caid is excited to host the West Coast Culinary Symposium, happening April 25-27, 2025 at Camp de Benneville Pines. 

This two-day event offers a rich blend of historical cooking classes, delicious food and of course our keynote speaker. Whether you’re staying for the full weekend or joining us just for Saturday, it’s the perfect chance to geek out about all things culinary and connect with fellow enthusiasts throughout the Known World. Coming all the way from the EU, the keynote speaker for this year is Hanna Tunberg, author of “An Early Meal a Viking Age Cookbook and Culinary Odyssey.”

EVENT REGISTRATION: Full weekend stay (in shared cabins with bunk beds, all of which have power outlets) or Saturday day-trip attendance. Full weekend attendance is limited, so register early.

Early Bird pricing (payment received before Dec 31, 2024): Adult Event Registration Full Weekend (including all meals) $140. Adult Member Discount Event Registration (with proof of membership) $130. Adult Saturday Day-trip only (including all meals) $50. Adult Member Discount Saturday Day-trip only (including all meals) $40

Regular pricing (payment received between Jan 1 and Mar 25, 2025): Adult Event Registration Full Weekend (including all meals) $160. Adult Member Discount Event Registration (with proof of membership) $150. Adult Saturday Day-trip only (including all meals) $60. Adult Member Discount Saturday Day-trip only (including all meals) $50

Children 14-17 pay 50% of the Adult Member price. Children 13 and under are guests of the Barony.

Paypal, cash, and checks accepted. Make checks payable to “SCA, Inc./Barony of Lyondemere.” 

REFUND POLICY: Refund requests can only be sent up until two weeks before the event, requests received April 11 or later will be denied. Refunds cost $5 and refund requests must be sent to wccs2025@lyondemere.sca-caid.org

DIRECTIONS: From 210 E, take exit 83 5th Street/Greenspot Rd. Turn left go 32 miles on 38 E/Mill Creek Rd. Turn right on Jenks Lake Rd E, for 3.5 mi to the campground. From 10 W, take exit 89 Singleton Rd, turn right and continue on Singleton Rd which turns into Bryant St. and go about 8 miles. Turn right on CA-38 E / Rim of the World Scenic Byway for 20.5 mi. Turn right on Jenks Lake Rd E, for 3.5 mi to the campground.
