Think you can catch multiple species on a glow jig?

The OPF Glow Jig Species Challenge is a catch-and-release, multi-species fishing tournament designed to test the effectiveness of glow jigs on Pymatuning Lake while collecting useful fishing data that will be shared with the local fishing community after the event.

This is not a weight tournament.

This is not a live bait tournament.

This is a challenge to catch as many different species as possible using tournament-legal glow jigs.

? TOURNAMENT FORMAT

• Catch and Release

• Fish anytime during tournament hours

• Each species may only be counted once per angler

• The angler with the most verified species wins

• Photo verification required

• Daily check-ins at Duck & Drake Outfitters

• Bluegill

• Crappie

• Largemouth Bass

• Smallmouth Bass

• Yellow Perch

• Bullhead

• Channel Catfish

• Northern Pike

• Muskellunge

? LEGAL LURES

Any jig is legal if the jig head glows, the materials tied onto the hook glow, or both.

Glow may come from:

• Glow paint

• Glow powder

• Glow resin

• Glow thread

• Glow flash

• Glow fibers

• Other phosphorescent materials

NOT ALLOWED

❌ Removable glow plastics

❌ Slip-on glow tubes

❌ Glow grubs

❌ Glow swimbaits

❌ Live bait

❌ Dead bait

❌ Cut bait

❌ Bait tipping of any kind

Simple Rule:

If the glow is part of the jig itself, it’s legal.

If the glow comes from a removable plastic body or any type of bait, it’s not.

Built on one of the two available blanks.

If the winner wants:

The goal of this event is not only to crown a champion but also to collect useful information about species behavior, productive depths, presentation methods, and glow-jig performance on Pymatuning Lake.

Tournament findings will be collected and shared with the local fishing community following the event to help anglers catch more fish on our local waters.
