Hello everyone,
It’s that time of year, when winter comes, it brings with it a proud Minnesota tradition: the annual plunge season. Another proud tradition is my annual fundraiser walk, which has been taking place since 2023. This year, in particular, is special with the upcoming 2026 USA Games here in Minnesota.
In honor of this event, and the proud athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and fans alike, I will be walking 26 miles (a full marathon!) from the National Sports Center, our hub site for six sports, to Huntington Bank Stadium, our main hub site, to help raise money for the USA Games and Special Olympics Minnesota.
My goal is to reach $6,000, and to help reach that goal, I have added some special perks for donating, such as having athletes’ names placed on my flag cape, which will be on display during the walk. Everyone is welcome to attend, you don’t have to walk the entire distance. You can walk a few miles or even just one mile, whatever you’re comfortable with. Please mark yourself as “interested” on this page as soon as you can if you would like to participate in the walk. The date of the walk is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 18th (subject to change). Start time will be listed as we get closer to the date of the walk.
It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve on the Board for the USA Games and help make this a truly incredible, once in a lifetime event, especially for the inspiring individuals who make the Special Olympics mission a true life changer. That is why I am willing to plunge and complete this “26 for 26” fundraising walk, to help ensure a wonderful event and to say thank you to Minnesota, and the entire USA, for this unbelievable opportunity.
