Windows That Work: Creating Customer Experience Through Storefront Display is a hybrid, interactive workshop designed to help retailers and small business owners turn their storefront windows into powerful marketing tools. Inspired by the Downtown Window Display Contest, this session brings together retail design experts and local creatives to explore how window design, visual storytelling, art, and landscaping work together to attract attention, communicate brand identity, and drive foot traffic.
Led by Suzanne Rafenstein and Julia Killian of Retailworks, Inc., an award-winning retail design and branding firm, the workshop blends expert insights with real-world examples and practical strategies.
A community roundtable featuring local art and horticulture professionals adds a creative, place-based perspective on elevating storefronts through artistic elements and curb appeal.
Featuring Tracy Weiss, Curator at the Anderson Arts Center: Tracy will share insights on incorporating art, creativity, and visual storytelling into storefront displays and how artistic elements can elevate windows and reflect a community’s creative identity.
Featuring Brett Broyles Horticulturist, City of Anderson: Brett will discuss landscaping storefront window fronts, including plant selection, seasonal considerations, and how greenery can enhance curb appeal and frame window displays.
Participants will leave with actionable, budget-friendly ideas they can immediately apply to enhance their own storefronts—no matter the size of their business or display budget.
