Mojo in the Haus featuring Luke Deuce

“Mojo in the Haus” is an intimate listening room series hosted by Max Simpson. Featuring local and regional artists, this experience allows you to learn about their story and what makes them tick. This month we'll have the “Picker from Pickens,” Mr. Luke Deuce!

Luke Deuce is a rising country singer-songwriter from Pickens, South Carolina, whose roots in music began early — he started performing Johnny Cash songs in kindergarten, and grew up playing instruments with his dad in his luthier shop. Blending classic country sounds from the 1940s to the 1990s with a modern sensibility, Luke draws from his "old soul" influences to craft heartfelt songs grounded in real life.

In just a few years, he’s attracted attention beyond his home region — performing hundreds of shows across the Southeast, collaborating with experienced songwriters and producers, and earning accolades like the first-ever “Rising Star” award from the SC Entertainment & Music Hall of Fame.
