ABOUT THE BUILDERS & THE BUTCHERS
Portland-based folk rock band The Builders and the Butchers have earned critical acclaim for their latest album, Hell and High Water. Known for energetic live shows and audience participation, the band has been compared to Clint Eastwood for their poetic storytelling.

Formed in 2005, the band consists of Ryan Sollee (vocals, guitar), Ray Rude (drums, keyboards), Paul Seely (guitar, vocals), Willy Kunkle (bass, guitar, vocals, percussion), Justin Baier (drums, percussion, vocals), and Harvey Tumbleson (mandolin, banjo, guitar, vocals, percussion). After years of local success, they gained nationwide recognition, touring the US and Europe, and performing at major festivals like Sasquatch and Lollapalooza.

In 2024, they toured with The Dead South, including a show at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Hell and High Water features shorter, punchier songs and was recorded remotely over two years. The album was produced in their home studio, with influences ranging from Tom Waits to The White Stripes.
