During the school year, Camp Fire Alaska operates afterschool programs for youth grades K – 5 at 18 elementary schools in Anchorage and Eagle River serving nearly 650 youth every day. During the summer months the number expands to thousands of youth served through Camp Fire’s summer camp programs including Summer Adventure Camp in Anchorage and Eagle River, Camp Fireweed- a day camp on the APU campus and Camp K- an overnight camp on Kenai Lake in Cooper Landing, AK. Camp Fire also operates community-based, non-fee programs during the summer in Anchorage and Rural Alaska. All Camp Fire programs provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment for kids and peace of mind for parents. Every year, thanks to contributions from donors, Camp Fire provides hundreds of scholarships for youth to access Camp Fire programs ensuring that a family’s financial situation is not a barrier for accessing care.
