The Pasefika Roots Institute, in proud partnership with the Anchorage Public Library and the Native Samoan Corporation, invites our entire Anchorage community, families, and elders to a  day of culture, leadership, and celebration!

This summit marks the ultimate culmination of two incredible milestones:
? Cycle 3 Graduation: Celebrating our dedicated students who are completing their rigorous 8-week Fa'asamoa Language and Cultural Arts Afterschool Program!
? Summer Camp Completion: Honoring all of our high-energy campers who successfully completed the week-long Fa'asamoa Village Life Summer Camp!

? WHERE: Mt. View Public Library | Community Hall (120 Bragaw St, Anchorage, Alaska)
?️ WHEN: Saturday, June 6th, 2026
⏰ TIME: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
? COST: FREE! (Monetary love offerings are gratefully accepted at the entrance to support future language and cultural arts programs!)

? WHAT TO EXPECT: THE FINALE TIMELINE

11:00 AM — Entrance & Cultural Protocol
Grand Procession & Unified Student Welcome.
Opening Prayer (Tatalo) & Leadership Remarks.

11:30 AM — Live Cultural Showcase
Pesega: Samoan Language Songs performed live by our students and campers!
Live Demonstrations: High-energy counting drills (1–10) and language highlights.
Siva Samoa & Fa'ataupati: Witness the beautiful grace of the traditional Siva and the roaring, synchronized power of the Samoan clap dance!

12:30 PM — Awards & Graduation Ceremony
Presentation of official Cycle 3 Achievement and Summer Camp Certificates.

1:15 PM — Serving Luncheon & Art Exhibition
To’ana’i: A community feast featuring traditional Samoan foods studied by the students (including Sapa Sui, Oka, and Fa'alifu).
Measina Samoa Exhibit: Walk the hall to view our students' beautiful handmade portfolios, including authentic Siapo bark cloth paintings, Lalaga fine weaving, and custom Pale headbands!

2:00 PM — Closing Blessing & Clean-up Protocol

? STUDENT & CAMPER REMINDERS

In-Session Task: 
All graduating students and campers must arrive promptly at 11:00 AM in their performance attire for final dress checks and floor staging. During the luncheon, you will act as "Village Ambassadors" to guide your family through your art display tables!
At-Home Assignment: 
Once you get home this weekend, record your absolute favorite memory from this cycle and share one new Samoan phrase with your family to keep the culture thriving at home.

⚠️ QUICK LOGISTICS

Chaperones: 
For the safety of our village, parents/guardians must remain physically present to supervise any participating children ages 5 and under.

Support: Food, admission, and festivities are completely free for everyone!
