Mother's Day Celebration & Summer Season Opening Day

Join us for our free Mother's Day Celebration & Summer Season Opening Day event on Sun, May 11, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Free admission for all to enjoy a day filled with fun activities and some special surprises for all the amazing moms out there. We will be kicking off the summer season with exciting programming for the whole family to enjoy. Come celebrate with us and make unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

Experience 10,000 years of culture by visiting the Alaska Native Heritage Center. Enjoy immersive guided tours of life-sized village sites, captivating performances by Alaska Native dancers (including a special guest group), and thrilling Alaska Native games demonstrations. Discover new exhibitions in the Hall of Cultures, purchase authentic Alaska Native art and jewelry, and grab a bite to eat from Café Di’eshchin and the Dippin’ Dots food truck.

Special Mother’s Day activities include take-home gifts for moms (while supplies last), Alaska Native dance performances by the ANHC dancers & an additional guest group, face painting, and a 10% discount on all items in the Ch’k’iqadi Gallery. Admission is free for all.
