Meet the Author: Holly Miowak Guise Book Talk

Join us as we welcome local author Holly Miowak Guise to Title Wave Books to talk about her book Alaska Native Resilience: Voices from World War II! This book talk is free and open to the public with a signing afterwards! Can't make it to the talk? Come meet Holly at her book signing on June 28th from 12pm-3pm!

Holly Miowak Guise is an Iñupiaq historian from Anchorage and family from Unalakleet. Her book, Alaska Native Resilience: Voices from World War II focuses on gender, Unangax̂ (Aleut) relocation and internment camps, Native activism/resistance, and Indigenous military service. In writing this book, she interviewed over 90+ Alaska Native elders and veterans. Her research methods bridge together archives, tribal archives, and community-based research.
