Each day of B.A.D Camp (Brookshire Acre Day Camp) will provide campers with hands on work with our school horses both from the ground and in the saddle. Camp is lead by our head instructor, Shelby Blades. Campers will learn about equine care and feeding, basic equine anatomy, different styles of riding, and different breeds of horses. Additionally, campers will be introduced to basic leatherworking, enjoy nature walks, and learn basic photography skills. And of course we'll have fun and educational games as well!
Campers should come dressed in long pants, sturdy footwear (no sandals or open toed shoes), and layers. If your camper has their own riding helmet and heeled footwear, please send it along! Loaner riding helmets are available for those who do not have their own. Bike and skating helmets are not suitable for equestrian activities and are not sufficient.
Campers should bring a brown bag lunch each day. A snack and beverages (water and juice) will be provided each day.
