Because trauma impacts all aspects of a child's life oftentimes traditional parenting methods don't work. This series will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to help the child in your care get back on their appropirate developmental trajectory and strategies for handling challenging behaviors.August 22 Introduction and Overview & Connecting Principles Learn what happens when attachment is disrupted, how to communicate in a way that establishes felt safety for your child and how your own adult attachment impacts your parenting. Gain insight and tools to meet their unique sensory related needs and help develop self-regulation skills. Learn how to disarm challenging fear based behaviors, replace them with appropriate ones, balance structure and nurture and set appropirate expectations.This group will meet twice in August from 10am-2pm for two training classes. Although it's best to attend both trainings in sequential order, you may join as many as your schedule allows.
