Launch your career in the marine industry with Skagit Valley College’s Marine Surveying course. Gain in-demand skills and certifications to perform vessel inspections, damage evaluations, and more.

Marine Surveying: Yachts and Small Craft focuses on condition and valuation surveys for vessels 65 feet or less in length. The course is structured into modules that provide essential knowledge for professional marine surveyors. Modules include general information on each topic, specific inspection points and guidelines for surveys, and practical case studies and exercises. End of module assessments and lab exercises ensure a thorough understanding of the material presented.

Students will complete three instructor led surveys during class sessions. After the course concludes, they will also complete four independent surveys, submitted for instructor feedback to deepen skills and real world application.
