What the Goose | English Stand-up Comedy

Standup comedy show in one of Amsterdam's coziest puppet theatre on Friday, 9th of May. We have a stellar lineup, including headliner Emily Higgson. Musical comedian Yohan Kwon. Local favourites, Swar Joshi, Sravasti Mukherjee, and Kristina Jak, plus exciting newcomer Adam Reed.

It's comedy in a puppet theatre. It's going to be cozy, it's going to be strange, and it's definitely going to be hilarious. And, before you ask, it's not the puppets doing comedy, it's the humans 🧍

Emily Higgson (Headliner)

Emily Higgson (@emilyhiggson) is an American comedian. Friends have described Emily as “kind of funny” and “average height”. Emily has described herself as “extremely funny” and “very tall”.

Yohan Kwon

Yohan Kwon is a Berlin comic based in Hamburg (not a typo), who combines pianistic chops with vocal charm.

Swar Joshi

Swar Joshi is a Utrecht-based comedian who could've been Amsterdam-based if he could afford it. Swar exaggerates life's minor irritations and trivializes existential crises. His comedy can be defined as “chaotic, cynical, and full of complaints - all performed by a happy, hyperactive human”. If you think you've done something stupid, Swar has probably already topped that.

Sravasti Mukherjee

Sra is an Indian-origin comic who is always experimenting with her comedy. With a dash of “did she really just say that?!” her comedy includes unique observations and anecdotes from her personal life, like the thoughts she has while washing dishes. She says she’s never getting a dishwasher again. They don’t clean that well anyway. Combined with her promising stage presence and likability, she gets away with almost anything on stage, even the weird noises she makes.

Prashant Khanchandani (MC)

Prashant is originally from India, now living in the Netherlands, with his wife, cat, and a graveyard of dead plants. He'll be hosting the event, he's a little shy, but responds well to offerings of bread.
