It is designed for dance lovers, young and old, with or without dance experience.Are you an amateur or (semi-)professional and does the idea of dancing together excite you? Join us and come dance in Space for Dance Art.We Dance Together is suitable for all dance enthusiasts aged 15 and above (with no upper limit!).This eight-session workshop is led by the decolonial, queer Roma-Brazilian artist and director Thais Di Marco.About the workshop —THE OBSESSORS – Workshop on community rituals, dance and performance with Thais Di MarcoWhat forces drive our desires? How are our desires controlled by external forces? What do I really want? How can invisible influences be transformed into creative power? How can we dance to purify ourselves of what we no longer need?Participants are invited to explore their own obsessions, demons and invisible companions and transform them through movement, performativity and composition. You will learn scores, warm-ups and choreographic tools that combine rigour and freedom – methods that Thais has developed in their teaching methodology Re-Telling Structures. This methodology destabilises dominant frameworks by replacing their key elements. One of the guiding principles in Thais' work is “to mobilize pain until it turns into possibility”. It is about making the invisible visible through artistic gestures.The workshop focuses not on technical training, but on cultivating creativity and inventing your own processes for creation, performance, and composition. Each session will mix physical practices, collective games, and solo exploration, leading to the development of short performative pieces.Thais’s artistic practice is what she describes as critical entertainment: a hybrid space between popular show, ritual, and experimental art.
