To stay connected.As leaves are falling and the new cycle of Fall begins - we invite you to a day of gentle movement, breath, sounds, tea ceremony, and connection - a day to step out of the usual pace of modern-day life and come back home within. We will explore the Taoist art of meeting life with more presence and less force. A spacious yet intentional space to root, receive, express and meet each other more deeply - leaving you potentially feeling more grounded, energised and connected.No previous experience with Tai Chi, Qigong, Martial Arts or Meditation is needed. You don't need to know anything about Kung Fu (or at least what you think it is :) Just come as you are, and discover your own way of meeting and moving with the beautiful flow of life.THE FLOW OF THE DAY:We begin by grounding into the body through gentle Qigong: working with breath, posture, balance and subtle movement to bring more Chi and presence into the body.From there, we slow down into an ancient Tea Ceremony, and a live sound journey with rare traditional Chinese instruments (Guqin and Xiao flute). This is a chance to practice another Ying side of Kung Fu - KUNG FU OF RECEIVING. As we spend so much of our lives trying to make things happen. What happens when we become quiet enough to receive what is already here?After lunch, the energy may naturally rise. The space opens up.We will move into a more dynamic Tai Chi movement, bringing in more strength, flow and play. Through simple partner practices, we explore principles like push and yield, root and move, tension and release - not as ideas to understand, but as something to experience directly in the body.From movement, we move into Relating. Through simple connection practices, we will explore what it means to stay present with another person - through breath, attention, movement and gentle touch. "How can we stay connected to ourselves while truly meeting someone else?"We then open the space into the KUNG FU of GIVING, through collective mantra voicing and prayer.
