Schetsen in Het Scheepvaartmuseum

Kom met ons schetsen in het Scheepvaartmuseum!

We ontmoeten elkaar om 13.00 uur in het gebouw bij de hoofdingang. Om 15:30 uur kunnen we elkaar ontmoeten in het café om onze schetsen te laten zien.

Je moet een kaartje kopen voor het Scheepvaartmuseum. Als je een Museumkaart hebt, kun je gratis naar binnen.

Ze hebben drie verdiepingen met tentoonstellingen, waaronder antiek gereedschap dat op schepen wordt gebruikt, een tentoonstelling over walvissen en andere zeedieren en een groot schip dat buiten aan de achterkant van het museum is aangemeerd.

Dit is een prachtige plek om te bezoeken, maar er zijn veel regels aan verbonden.

De grootste regel is dat je geen tas groter dan A4 mee naar binnen mag nemen. Als je tas groter is, moet je hem beneden in een kluisje inchecken.

Hieronder staan nog wat andere regels die ik van hun website heb gekopieerd:

Zitplekken en museumkrukjes

- Op veel plekken in het museum staan bankjes, voor als je even wilt zitten of rusten. Ook zijn er speciale museumkrukjes te leen. Deze staan bij de ingang van de tentoonstelling Republiek aan Zee en aan de oostkant van het gebouw op de begane grond. Jij of je begeleider mag zelf zo'n krukje pakken en deze meenemen naar alle tentoonstellingen.

-Mag ik eten en drinken meenemen?
Ja, op het Open Plein, de steiger en het terrasponton mag je gerust wat eten of drinken.

-Mag ik mijn tas meenemen in het museum?
In de tentoonstellingen mag je geen tas meenemen groter dan A4-formaat. Je tas kun je achterlaten in de kluisjes.

-Is het toegestaan om te tekenen in Het Scheepvaartmuseum?

Het is toegestaan om te komen tekenen in Het Scheepvaartmuseum. Hieraan zijn wel specifieke regels verbonden:

- deelnemers mogen de doorloop van andere bezoekers op geen enkele manier blokkeren

- museumbezoekers mogen geen hinder ondervinden

- eigen krukken of stoeltjes zijn alleen toegestaan op het open plein of de tussenruimtes in de Oost- en Westvleugel

- museumbanken worden niet gebruikt of verplaatst

- schildersezels zijn niet toegestaan

- de aanwijzingen van museummedewerkers worden te allen tijde opgevolgd

- verf en spuitbussen zijn niet toegestaan, potlood en fineliner wel

- Bezoek met een (elektrische) rolstoel

Gebruik je een (elektrische) rolstoel? Het grootste gedeelte van het museum is rolstoeltoegankelijk. Alle tentoonstellingen en voorzieningen in het museum zijn bereikbaar via liften.

Alleen het VOC-schip Amsterdam aan onze steiger is helaas slechts gedeeltelijk toegankelijk voor rolstoelgebruikers. De lift op de steiger brengt je tot op het Overloopdek van het schip. Het ruim en het bovendek zijn helaas niet toegankelijk met een rolstoel.

- Scootmobielen

Scootmobielen zijn helaas niet toegestaan in het museum. Dit heeft te maken met de veiligheid van de collectie. Je kunt bij ons wel een rolstoel lenen. Deze kun je voorafgaand aan je bezoek reserveren door te bellen naar 020 523 22 22 of te mailen naar aW5mbyB8IGhldHNjaGVlcHZhYXJ0bXVzZXVtICEgbmw=.

Come sketch with us in the Maritime museum!

We will meet at 1pm inside the building by the main entrance. At 3:30pm we can meet in the café to show our sketches.

You need to purchase a ticket for the Maritime museum. If you have a Museum Card you can get in for free.

They have three floors of exhibits, including antique tools used on ships, an exhibit on whales and other sea creatures, and a tall ship that is docked outside around the back of the museum.

This is a beautiful place to visit, but it comes with a lot of rules.

The biggest rule is that you can’t take a bag bigger than A4 inside. If your bag is bigger than that, you need to check it in a locker downstairs.

-Seating and Museum Stools

Throughout the museum, you'll find benches where you can take a seat or rest. Additionally, we offer special museum stools that you can borrow. These are located at the entrance of the Republic at Sea exhibition and on the east side of the building on the ground floor. Feel free to take the stools with you as you explore the entire museum.

-Can I bring something to eat or drink?
Yes, you can eat or drink something in the open courtyard, the dock, and the patio pontoon.

-Can I bring my bag in the museum?
Bags larger than A4 size are not allowed in the exhibitions. You can leave your bag in the lockers.

-Is it allowed to draw in the National Maritime Museum?
Yes, it is allowed to draw in the Maritime Museum. There are some specific rules that must be considered:

- Due to the corona limitations, drawing in groups is not allowed, only on an individual basis. participants may never hinder the passage of other visitors

- museum visitors must in no way be hindered by the drawing activities

- own stools or chairs are only allowed in the open square or the spaces between the East and West wings

- museum benches may not be used or moved
easels are not allowed

- the instructions of the museum personnel must always be promptly followed

- paint and spray cans are not allowed, pencil and fineliner are


- Visiting with a (electric) wheelchair

If you use a (electric) wheelchair, the majority of the museum is wheelchair accessible. All exhibitions and facilities in the museum are accessible via elevators. Unfortunately, the East Indiaman Amsterdam at our pier is only partially accessible to wheelchair users. The lift on the pier takes you to the Main Deck of the ship. However, the hold and upper deck are not wheelchair accessible.

- Scooters
