It revealed the contradiction that exists within every system — the tension between what is and what could be, between what is seen and what is ignored.Season 02 is called GROUND. Because naming a contradiction resolves nothing. Laying a foundation does.The common ground shared by maker, Foundation and visitor alike. Not as a metaphor — as a fact. We stand here together. On the same ground. From the same conviction that good work deserves space, regardless of the path through which it came into being.This season brings together individual makers and a collective. Each working from their own material, methodology and set of questions. Together they are the ground on which this season is built — the living proof of what MADART Foundation curates and why. The exhibition takes place on the fourth floor of NIO House Amsterdam — the former Metz building on Leidsestraat, renovated by MVRDV, with a rooftop pavilion designed by Gerrit Rietveld. Wines during the opening night are provided by Bon Vivant.MADART FoundationMADART Foundation is an independent cultural platform based in Amsterdam. We curate makers who fall outside the institutional criteria of the established art world — self-taught, not categorisable, or simply outside the frameworks that decide who gets a platform and who does not.We cover the production costs of every exhibition. There is no exclusivity. There is no fee to participate. The model is built on a principle rarely applied in the art world: the maker is not a source of income — but an investment.GROUND is the season in which we show who we are.
