When emotions run high and tempers flare, how do we stay in dialogue, instead of a verbal war? This evening invites you into that question.
Join us for a thought-provoking session, where we explore the meaning, purpose, and friction around gender-specific spaces; from men’s circles to women’s gatherings and every workshop type that falls in between.
Together with a diverse panel of speakers, facilitator Eksteen will guide a conversation on the value and risk of gendered events in today’s world. Are these spaces healing divides or deepening them? What misunderstandings often arise, and how can we meet them with curiosity instead of resistance?
But this isn’t just talk.
Between panel segments, you’ll be invited into short reflections and interactive moments that help you explore your own way of engaging with tension; how to stay open, listen deeply, and turn conflict into learning.
Expect nuance and expect honesty. Expect to leave with new language for conversations that matter. And maybe, just maybe, you leave with a new perspective on how to run your own events.
This event is for anyone who believes in conversation over cancellation, in nuance over noise, and in the power of staying human when things get heated.
Facilitator: Eksteen
Panel: Four voices with distinct perspectives and lived experiences around gender-specific work
Come curious. Leave clearer.
Not all countries have it as well as we have it in the Netherlands. The Dutch Hockey teams (both men and women) are some of the best in the world. Namibia's under 21st have worked hard for the last few years and finally, for the first time, both the under-21 men's and women's teams qualified for the World Cup. Only drawback. They are struggling to get funds together to pay for it all. Namibia is a poor country. Its surface area is 20 times that of the Netherlands, but they only have 1/6 of the population. Affording sport at an international level is always hard, but even harder to get an opportunity in poor countries. The event speakers and facilitators are giving their time for free, and participants are requested to give a donation, no matter how small or big, to help these young women and men participate on the global stage.
