- **Event Description**: Het is intussen zeven jaar geleden dat Marie Van Uytvanck en Amber Piddington voor het eerst samen op een podium stonden, tijdens de voorrondes van Sound Track in 2019. Wat begon als een noodoplossing (de gitarist met wie Marie aan de wedstrijd zou deelnemen had ziek afgezegd) bleek zo goed te werken dat ze besloten samen verder te gaan als Kids With Buns, genoemd naar het Gorillaz-nummer ‘Kids with Guns’. Hun weemoedige bedroompopliedjes over wat hen bezighoudt vonden al snel een publiek. De eerste singles ‘1712’ en ‘Bad Grades’ werden goed onthaald, in augustus 2020 bereikten ze de halve finale van Humo’s Rock Rally en in januari 2021 wonnen ze De Nieuwe Lichting van Studio Brussel. Tegelijk bleven ze dicht bij zichzelf. Kids With Buns doet wat het het best kan: intieme indierock, gedragen door de melodieuze gitaren van Amber en de diepe stem van Marie. Het resultaat: sad bangers waarop je kunt dansen tijdens een mentale inzinking in de badkamer.
