Some of the best parties in the 1950s can be characterised by the necessary preparations; slicked back or high volume hair, sleek ties or sparkling jewels, rockabilly and delicate cocktail bites, all things popularized by the advertisements of the time. Join us on Saturday night 26 January, and embrace the vibrant era filled with kitchen innovation, pearls, elaborate drinks, dinner jackets and cocktail dresses - Hollywood stars such as Monty Clift and Elizabeth Taylor. This evening, cocktails, cocktail bites, jazz and of course, a suitable outfit come together amongst the works in the exhibition Feast for the Eyes – The Story of Food in Photography.
The welcome cocktails by Rémy Martin are served from 6.30pm, followed by live jazz music in the exhibition, a 50s photo booth and guided tours. Fashion outfits from that era are greatly encouraged (and rewarded with a prize!), so keep an eye out on Instagram @foam_amsterdam for styling tips.
