Pablo and Helena – uncle and niece – come from a musical family. Helena is a young Belgian-Brazilian singer who studied jazz at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. She is part of the KillJoy Quizshow (NTGent), Sachee and Cultra Collective (Amsterdam), and released her debut album Pit of Impressions in 2025.

Pablo Casella is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from São Paulo, based in Ghent since 2008.

Together, the duo performs a selection of Brazilian songs and original compositions in which their roots and family bond can be heard and felt. With guitar, percussion and vocals, they not only connect their strings and voices, but also engage with the Amsterdam audience as Young Creators. From slow ballads to lively rhythms, this concert is a journey shaped by warm Brazilian vibes and their deep musical connection.

2nd concert: Golek - Heine - Roelofs

The band sound of Golek–Heine–Roelofs is rooted in the jazz trio tradition of Hammond organ, guitar and drums, blended with a range of musical styles such as folk and asymmetrical grooves. 

David Golek, an Israeli-born jazz guitarist who has become an essential presence in Amsterdam’s scene, has previously performed at On The Roof: in 2023 with Monk meets the Beatles and in 2019 with Simin Tander. Originally from Germany, drummer Achim Heine is a returning favourite at On The Roof, where he performed with Twitching Eye Trio, Earswideopen and Flamingo Anonymous in previous years. Dutch musician Mike Roelofs is a true multi-instrumentalist on piano and Hammond organ.

The three musicians bring together diverse musical and geographical backgrounds, adding an extra dimension to their sound. All have performed with world-class artists, and in this trio they join forces to create an exciting musical palette that tells their personal stories, building on their debut album Flight of the Ant.
