# Event Details - **Event Name**: Hadath el Jebbe to Wata Houb hike - Darb Mar Charbel - **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 07 Jun, 2026 at 07:30 am – Sun, 07 Jun, 2026 at 07:00 pm - **Event Description**: Dear nature lovers, Darb Mar Charbel, is a 130km route crossing 40 villages and covering significant places and villages integral to the life of Lebanon’s patron saint, Mar Charbel. It starts from Qozhaya and Beqaa Kafra in the North and ends in Bkerke. We will hike part of his path located between Hadath el Jebbe between the cedars and the monastery of St. Antonios in Wata Houb. This trail is rich in its diversity of trees, plants without forgetting the mesmerizing views on the way. Our hike will start from the entrance of the cedars of Hadath el jebbe (1500 m) taking a beautiful path inside the cedar forest around 7 kms until we reach an altitude of (1760 m) overviewing a panoramic view of the region like the Makmal mountains, Becharre, Hasroun, Tannourine, Qannoubine valley. From the this spot, we will take a beautiful downhill path toward al Fouar (1400 m), a valley that separate Hadath el Jebbe from Tannourine. Inside the valley, we will hike between orchards and varieties of trees heading toward the famous Jabal Ribaz (1500 m). From there, we will cross a wooden bridge to the other side of the valley. A new path that will take us to St Antonios the Great monastery in Wata Houb (1350 m) that was built by Father Mikhail Al-Kharrat in 1778 on the ruins of an ancient shrine of Our Lady in the vicinity of Al-Sahib Spring after combining the monastery of the virgin Mary with it. The Lebanese Maronite is currently seeking to rehabilitate the lower layer. During World War I, the monastery's monks provided aid, and the monastery opened its doors as a result of the recent events (1975-1990) and sheltered many homeless people.
