What is special about the flower moon? Beyond its seasonal name, the flower moon is linked to themes of growth, fertility and renewal across many cultures and it also shares the month with another full moon.

Ehden is located in the central northern side of Mount Lebanon, with a 1500-metre (at Midan square) elevation from sea level. It is 120 kilometres (75 mi) from Beirut, 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Tripoli and 25 kilometres (16 mi) from Zgharta. Ehden used to be the sole residence for Zghartians prior to the establishment of Zgharta. It is known for its dry climate, water and forest. It is a renowned summer location, famous for its setting on the Mar Sarkis (Saint Sarkis) Mountain overlooking coastal towns and villages as far as Akkar to Shikka. A large number of local and overseas tourists visit Ehden annually.

Ehden is derived from Aramaic, meaning "the mountain’s base and slope".

Description of the trail:

This time our trail will be an advanced hike, starting from an altitude of 1550 m from the entrance of the reserve (Ain al Biyada). We will hike the first 4 kms inside the reserve and then we will take a road up to jeffiyeh, sahlet al hommayda, betleya, and then to the region of Mekyel daher (1850 m). We will take a flat road toward Ehden cross at an altitude of 1970 m where we can a observe and witness a panoramic view of the sunset overviewing ehden cedars reserve, the sea, akkar, mennyeh donniyeh, becharre mountains..
After watching the sunset, 3 kms or 45 mins easy walk to reach Ain Biyada entrance where the bus will be waiting for us.

After finishing the sunset hike, we will visit al Midane square and St Georges church to visit the statue of the Patriarch Estephan Doueihy

1- @ 12:30 pm: jal dib near DHL and Banque Libano Francaise facing the Canadian embassy (we can pick our hikers that live on our way)

2- @ 12:00 pm: near Al Amine Mosque downtown Beirut.

Hiking distance: 11 kms (level 6 moderate)

Total hiking duration : 5 hrs
Moving time : 4 hrs

Required materials : hiking boots, backpack, hat, 3L of water, windproof jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen, healthy snacks, hiking stick, torch.

Fees: 20 USD or equivalent to the LBP market rate (including transportation, guidance, giveaways, but does not include medical insurance)

Entrance fees to Ehden reserve: 
- For Lebanese 300,000 LBP
- For Foreigners 700,000 LBP

Group of 6 and more will benefit from 1 free hiking invitation
