Snakes for Kids with Ray Palmer

Ever wonder what that creature is slithering in your yard? Here is your chance to learn! Bring your kids and join Ray Palmer at The Mill District General Store and Local Art Gallery on Wednesday, July 9 from 3-4pm. Ray's passion for snakes has inspired some of her currently exhibited beaded jewelry designs.

Learn a little bit about snakes lives, how to recognize different species, and tips on what to do when you meet one in the wild. Then, meet Naga, Ray's very friendly pet corn snake. If your are interested, you may even get the chance to touch Naga!

Free Family Friendly FUN! Donations to artist accepted. All ages welcome with adult accompaniment.

Ray Palmer Artist Bio:

I started making jewelry work when I was 15 years old. After taking a break in college, I picked it back up and have been joyfully creating beaded jewelry ever since while also raising 4 children. My hope is that the people who choose to wear my jewelry will feel a little bit of the joy I experience when creating each piece.

Recently, I decided to work in my passion for animals into the beaded designs, and have started creating bracelets and necklaces with natural patterns from wildlife, primarily snakes. One of my dreams is to open my own wildlife rehabilitation center. Your purchase will help to make this dream a reality.
