You know how much we love a unique pottery class here at Where Inspiration Blooms and this one is no exception... and best of all its suitable for complete beginners (as well as more experienced potters!).
In this 2-hour class, led by our pottery expert and co-founder of Where Inspiration Blooms, Caroline Oden, you will have the opportunity to create 3 cane toppers. These little beauties are perfect for ensuring that you don't spike yourself when leaning into your flower beds to grab those annoying and constantly appearing W**d, but they also make a really lovely garden decoration and best of all YOU made them!
You will be learning about and making your toppers using 3 different pottery techniques:
- pinch pots
- slab building (or hand building)
- slip casting
These 3 techniques make up the basis of so many people's pottery practises so we hope they'll give you a really fabulous introduction to the world of ceramics.
You will also have the opportunity to choose which colour you would like us to glaze your pieces (from our selection of glazes) which we will do for you after they've had their first firing. The finished pieces will then be ready for collection in approximately 4 weeks. You will receive an email from us inviting you to book a collection slot to return to pick them up.
No experience necessary and all materials will be provided.
We recommend this workshop for adults; however, teenagers aged 14 and above are welcome to attend if you wish to enjoy this workshop together, provided they also purchase a place on the workshop too.
