Gerrit Veldman heeft binnen de Blueswereld eigenlijk helemaal geen introductie nodig. Wie Gerrit Veldman zegt, zegt Blues. Gerrit speelt niet alleen Blues, Gerrit is Blues. Met een indrukwekkende staat van dienst behoort Gerrit Veldman tot de absolute top van de Bluesscene in de Benelux.

Meerdere malen genomineerd als beste Blueszanger en gitarist en in 2012 door de Dutch Blues Foundation verkozen tot beste Bluesgitarist van Nederland. Het gitaarwerk van Gerrit is ook in de Benelux bepaald niet onopgemerkt gebleven. Duizenden lezers van tijdschrift Gitarist en Gitarist.nl verkozen hem tot de nr. 7 beste Blues(rock)gitarist in 2022/2023. En in 2023/2024 steeg Gerrit nog eens met stip door op diezelfde lijst, naar de 4e plaats.

Door de jaren heen heeft Gerrit in verschillende formaties een belangrijke, zo niet prominente, rol gespeeld. The Prodigal Sons, The Veldman Brothers om er enkele te noemen,  maar toeren met Darrell Mansfield behoort ook tot de wapenfeiten. 

De rode draad is altijd de Blues &  Roots gebleven. Gerrit weet dit met zijn geweldige Bluesstem en virtuoze gitaarspel, op onnavolgbare wijze neer te zetten. Altijd weet Gerrit zich te omringen met topmuzikanten die elkaar zowel persoonlijk als muzikaal volledig begrijpen.

Dat hoor, zie en merk je tijdens de optredens.  De muziek heeft daardoor de diepte die bij de Blues hoort en komt recht uit het hart. Na een “sabbatical” van 2 jaar kruipt het Blues bloed waar het niet gaan kan en is het tijd de Blueswereld weer in te duiken en een selectie te maken van de nummers die de afgelopen
kleine 20 jaar de revue gepasseerd zijn. “The Best of “een repertoire met hoofdzakelijk eigen werk en enkele covers, aangevuld met nieuw materiaal.

Gerrit Veldman really needs no introduction within the blues world.
When you say Gerrit Veldman, you say blues. Gerrit doesn’t just play the blues, Gerrit is the blues.
With an impressive track record, Gerrit Veldman belongs to the absolute top of the blues scene in the Benelux.

He has been nominated multiple times as best blues singer and guitarist, and in 2012 he was named Best Blues Guitarist in the Netherlands by the Dutch Blues Foundation.
Gerrit’s guitar work has not gone unnoticed in the Benelux either.
Thousands of readers of Gitarist magazine and Gitarist.nl voted him the number 7 best blues(rock) guitarist in 2022/2023. In 2023/2024, Gerrit climbed even higher on that same list, reaching 4th place.

Over the years, Gerrit has played an important, if not prominent, role in various bands and projects. The Prodigal Sons, The Veldman Brothers, to name just a few. Touring with Darrell Mansfield is also among his accomplishments.
The common thread throughout has always been blues and roots. Gerrit delivers this in his own unique way with his powerful blues voice and virtuoso guitar playing.

He consistently surrounds himself with top-tier musicians who fully understand each other both musically and personally.
