The act that gave us the legal right to walk on open access land across England and Wales. As a key player in delivery of this right, the BMC is keen for you to enjoy our access. The route takes in 3 Wainwright summits (Pavey Ark, Harrison Stickle and Pike o’Stickle) with extensive views of Langdale valley and Bow Fell. If time permits, we will also visit the site of the Stone Age Axe Factory, a cluster of Neolithic quarry and working sites where polished stone axes were made from volcanic greenstone.Led by BMC Lakes area Chair, Liz Jolley and BMC Lakes area Hill Walking Rep, Ken Taylor.
