The Florida Mudcutters — the local SWFL chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association — are bringing a brand-new race format to Florida mountain biking.
Caloosa Crank Fest hits Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Caloosahatchee Regional Park in Alva — and it’s not your typical MTB race.
This is a true 3-stage mountain bike time trial:
🚵 Riders start one at a time
⏱️ Three fast, flowing trail stages
🔁 Short recovery between stages
🏆 Lowest total time wins
Racers will tackle about 11 miles of singletrack that blends XC speed with enduro-style strategy — a format rarely seen in Florida and built to keep every second exciting.
Whether you’re new to racing or chasing the podium, there’s a category for you:
• Novice — perfect for first-time racers and casual riders looking for fun
• Sport & Elite — for competitive, fitness-focused athletes
• E-Bike (Class 1 only) — for powered performance
Podium photos will feature the top 5 finishers in each category, with medals awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Open practice runs Saturday, March 21.
