Fun, friendly & relaxing!About this EventJoin me in my cosy Altrincham studio, and learn how to create beautiful printed fabrics using colours from natural plant extracts using simple techniques you can repeat at home.The course is suitable for complete beginners. For those who have done some natural dyeing previously, there is plenty to explore too!What will you learn on the day:After a short introduction to the history of natural dyes and learning how they are used and prepared, you’ll be creating a fabulous set of cotton fabric samples, using a range of exciting techniques including tie dye, print and resist.You’ll be able to take your fabric samples home to make a small project or stitch your fabrics into a sampler. After lunch I'll be introducing you to more techniques including stitched resist, folding and clamping and you will be able to explore how to combine natural dyes and use over-printing to widen your colour palette and achieve some fabulous results.You will finish the day creating a handy cotton tote to take home, printed and dyed using your choice of techniques and colours.Do I need to bring anything?Everything is included – fabric, dyes, even gloves and an apron.Tea and coffee is available all day but please bring a packed lunch. Alternatively, take a short stroll into Altrincham where you'll find plenty of shops and cafes.Course level:This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners and is also great for anyone in need of a refresher or would like some ‘me time’ to play with new ideas and colours!Can't make this date?Private group bookings and individual tuition/mentoring sessions can be arranged on request.
