Led by Educator/Interpreter John Zumwalt
Every first Saturday, the mounds wake up—and so do we.
Join us for an unhurried walk through the Caddo Mounds State Historic Site, where the earth still remembers the footsteps of the Hasinai Caddo who lived, built, danced, and dreamed here a thousand years ago.
This isn’t a lecture—it’s a conversation between land and listener.
We’ll explore how the mounds were made, what they meant, and how the stories of the Caddo people still echo across the prairie today.
⏰ Begins at 10:00 AM (about an hour and a half; longer if the questions keep coming).
🌤 Dress for the weather; canceled if raining.
👟 Comfortable shoes recommended.
💲 Included with regular site admission (Adults $5, Seniors/First Responders/Teachers/Veterans $3, Youth 6–17 $2, under 6 free).
Come for the history. Stay for the feeling that you’ve stepped somewhere sacred.
Caddo Mounds isn’t a place you just visit—it’s a place that visits you back.
