Three day Workshop (3 Saturdays) in Zuid Holland, near Leiden and Alphen aan de Rijn (half hour driving from Amsterdam).
The workshop is a combination of theory and practice, learning by doing. Theoretical components are; 7 layers of edible plants to harvest (Vegetables & perennial fruit / nut trees, edible shrubs, climbing plants, herbs, ground covers).

Design principles, location, soil, ecology, planting and choice of species. Bouwie offers practical, playful exercises and various working methods. We learn to observe, focus on the elements, look at how the existing garden functions, we investigate together the possibilities for expansion with more edible greenery. Of course we will share our knowledge about the existing plants.

Learn how to make your back garden more edible and use the same principles for bigger Food forest.
Bouwie talks about possible plants with which the garden can be supplemented. The starting point are the permaculture principles, taking into account nature, the users (humans & animals) and sharing of abundance. In these three days you will learn how to design your own edible landscape. And we discover what is already edible in this garden.

The workshop takes place at the beautiful spiritual & yoga center "Anitya Recharging Home" hosted by a young French couple Valériane & Nathan. The garden (800 m2) surrounding the house has already some big trees with shady spots and a sunny back yard next to a canal.

Permaculture Food garden design in Small & Big scales, observation, design principles

-Day 2: Saturday 29th November 10-16:30
Plant knowledge, implementing a design & planting perennials

-Day 3: Saturday 9th May 10-16:30
How to grow annual vegetables, herbs, plant community, kitchen & vegetable and planting

Participation is € 225,- per person, including an organic vegetarian lunch, coffee & tea.
If you bring a friend we can offer you a €10,- discount.
If you can't make it all the days, it's also possible to book per day € 85,-

As a permaculture and food garden specialist, I have been involved in all aspects of a sustainable lifestyle and food supply for years. I've planted many trees, made all designs, thought in a lot of food forest workshops in The Netherlands and abroad. From Hungary to Normandy, from North Groningen to Brabant. 

My life's goal: To transform the earth into an edible paradise. In my daily life, I design and support the creation of edible landscapes and food forests and I teach international volunteers about my autonomous life style. During planting edible gardens I like to share my knowledge about all the goodies that can grow in a food forest, I have a great passion for food forests with a public character, e.g. at schools, neighborhoods, festivals or course centers. Since 2012 I have been actively involved in the development of ecovillages in the Netherlands from GEN (Ecovillages Network) and I have been closely involved in various initiatives (including The Living Village). 

Bouwie creates a learning environment in which different learning styles are addressed, during the workshop participants can enthusiastically get started in their own garden.
