This hands-on opportunity opens the door for youth across Northern Michigan to gain insight into state and national livestock showcases. Industry leaders will provide education and demonstrations, followed by an opportunity for youth to showcase their own skills and animals.

Bring your animal and be ready to work hands-on throughout the day!

Event Details

What: Clinic followed by Showcase
Who: Michigan youth exhibitors. Adults may attend; a $10 spectator fee will be collected at the event.
Where: Alpena County Fairgrounds
Cost: $25 per youth participant
When: May 30, 2026

Schedule:

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Showmanship, fitting, grooming, animal selection, training tips, and hands-on instruction.

12:00 – 1:00 PM
Lunch provided.

1:00 – 3:00 PM

Pre-Novice
Novice
Junior
Senior
Top two competitors in each division will be recognized and advance to compete for the Overall Showcase Top Two Winners.
