Dr. Martin is known for composing under several pseudonyms, including Michael Barrett, Jon Paige, and Douglas Nolan—music many choirs already love and perform regularly.

WHAT
A full-day choir workshop and evening concert featuring the music of Dr. Martin.
During the workshop, participants will rehearse approximately 10 of his choral pieces. The day will conclude with a 7:00 p.m. concert, where the workshop choir will perform the pieces prepared during the day, along with solo selections and stories from Dr. Martin.

Concert: 7:00 p.m. (free and open to the public)

COST
Workshop registration: $10
The cost of bringing Dr. Martin to Alpena is fully covered by First Congregational Church, with music costs partially sponsored by friends and members of the church to keep the registration fee as low as possible.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Lunch will be provided during the workshop day. Participants will break for dinner on their own before returning for the evening concert.

Dr. Martin has asked that singers come familiar with the music so the clinic can focus on refining and polishing the pieces. To help with this, Zoom and in-person rehearsals will be offered, and recorded rehearsals will be available online. Rehearsals are helpful but not required in order to participate.
