- **Event Description**: In partnership with Starbase Alpena, Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary is hosting the annual Alpena Area Brick Build competition.

This year is a special “Pi Day Edition,” with the friends and family fun build and awards ceremony taking place on Saturday, March 14 — 3.14.

All school-aged students are eligible to participate in the competition.  Teams are encouraged, but solo entries welcomed as well. All participants must be signed up by 4pm on March 6, 2026.

Saturday, March 14 schedule at the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center:
-11am to 2pm
-Friends and family fun build
-All entries on display
-Meet and greet with the UR2 Competitive Robotics team from Alpena High School
-Brick Build winners announced
