2026 Alpena Ice Fest

The Friends of the Alpena Farmers Market is proud to one of the sponsors for the Thunder Bay Arts Council's annual Alpena Ice Festival on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 9 am- 8 pm. The Alpena Farmers' Market opens at 9:00am with the Ice Festival activities starting at 11:00am at Mich-e-kewis Park with ice sculptures on display by Ice Creations of Napolean, Ohio, a huge bonfire by the Alpena Fire Department, food trucks, and other snow and ice-related activities.
Then, come downtown for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge on Second Avenue. Wrap up the day by strolling the city streets to enjoy dazzling ice sculptures, firepits, and more special winter activities from 5-8 pm in Downtown Alpena.
