On Saturday, September 5, ride the Sunflower Special to SeaLyon Farm aboard a historic WW&F steam train. Your journey begins at Sheepscot Station and travels through the forests, fields, and hamlets of the scenic Sheepscot Valley—including the full trip over the WW&F's Mountain Extension to Trout Brook—before arriving at Top of Mountain. There, you'll board a wagon for the short trip to SeaLyon Farm, where hundreds of brilliant sunflowers will be in bloom.

Enjoy approximately 90 minutes at the farm to stroll through the sunflower field, browse the farmstand, shop from local artisans, enjoy freshly prepared food from local vendors, sample Maine-made beer and cider from Six River Cider (subject to availability), and take a relaxing horse-drawn wagon ride around the farm. You'll also find lawn games, friendly farm animals, scenic ponds, and plenty of opportunities to capture memorable late-summer photographs.

After your visit, return by steam train to Sheepscot Station, where you can explore the museum grounds, visit the gift shop, and see ongoing restoration projects. The entire experience lasts just under four hours and includes all train and wagon transportation. Sunflowers, food, beverages, and farm products are available for purchase separately at SeaLyon Farm.

The Sunflower Special is offered one day only, and previous WW&F and SeaLyon Farm excursions have sold out. Advance ticket purchases are highly recommended.
