We're stringing together NINE State Forests in one glorious, masochistic loop through the forgotten hollows of rural Allegany County. Hills upon hills upon hills...the kind of terrain that separates the committed from the merely curious. This is gravel cycling in its purest, most unhinged form: miles of smiles earned through suffering.


**THE ROUTES:**
- **46 miles** of magnificent punishment, led by Gary Roberts (for those who climb fast and laugh at gravity)

**THE DEAL:**
- Meet at 9:30 AM, wheels roll at 10:00
- Expect 4-5 hours peddling through country that belongs to "Hill People"
- The longer route runs around 12 mph pace; the shorter route, 9-10 mph
- Not a race. Still not easy.


**CRITICAL INTELLIGENCE:**

This is a FULLY SELF-SUPPORTED ride, which means if you forget your tubes, your pump, or your will to live, nobody's coming to save you. Long stretches of these roads have no houses, no inhabitants, no cell service...Just you, the forest, and the consequences of your own decisions.


**BRING:**
- Route loaded on a RELIABLE bike computer (non-negotiable)
- Tubes, pump, tools to fix whatever breaks
- Layers (April weather up here is a cruel joke—could be 70°F and sunny, could be snowing on the hilltops)
- Food and hydration for the duration
- Your sense of humor


**PRO TIP:** The town park has no bathroom. Stop at the 7-Eleven on your way in unless you enjoy starting your adventure in discomfort.


**THE REWARD:** Tailgate beers and good cheer at the finish. Gary's promised a mid-ride cooler stashed somewhere out there...rumor has it there may be Oreos, grass-fed beef jerky and maybe other Scooby-snacks
