SARAH CARSON is the author of the poetry collections Buick City (Mayapple Press, 2015), Poems in Which You Die (BatCat Press), and How to Baptize a Child in Flint, Michigan (2022), winner of the 2021 Lexi Rudnitsky Editor’s Choice Award from Persea Books. Her work has appeared in The Slowdown, Guernica, Prairie Schooner, Copper Nickel, and New Ohio Review, among other outlets. She has received grants and prizes from Tin House, the Illinois Arts Council, and the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, and she was a finalist for the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation. She lives in Michigan with her daughter and two dogs.

ROBERT FANNING is the author of nine collections of poetry, including five full-length collections: All We Are Given We Cannot Hold, Severance, Our Sudden Museum, American Prophet, and The Seed Thieves, as well as four chapbooks: The Good Sea, (forthcoming, Summer 2026), Prince of the Air, Sheet Music, and Old Bright Wheel. His poems have appeared in many prominent national journals, including: Poetry, Ploughshares, Shenandoah, Gulf Coast, The Atlanta Review, The Common, among others.
He has taught at CMU for 18 years and is an awardee of the CMU Faculty Distinguished Service Award, as well as a two-time winner of the CMU Excellence in Teaching Award. He is also the founder, facilitator and host of the Wellspring Literary Series, a vibrant annual community event featuring Michigan poets, musicians, art and food—in downtown Mt. Pleasant.
