Rucks are not required but most take one.

This is not a pet or child-friendly event although they are welcome to come cheer us on! 

Essentials to bring: Water, fuel, appropriate footwear, extra socks, appropriate clothing for the weather, and a positive attitude.

Rucking is a form of physical activity that involves walking with a loaded backpack (or ‘rucksack’) over various distances and terrains. (Plate carriers and sandbags are also welcome.) A moderate amount of added weight can produce the same stimulus and metabolic benefit as running, while also strengthening the legs and lower back. Rucking is similar to hiking and is often used as conditioning by backcountry hunters, CrossFitters and those in the military and emergency services.
