- **Event Description**: Femi J. Johnson, ARTHAUS friend, neighbor and often featured artist is moving to Arizona.  Please join us at his gallery show from July 18-August 10, and at a special artist reception and birthday celebration on Thursday, July 23, 5:00-7:30 pm.

The show will feature an extensive collection of Femi's work.  All artwork will be for sale, and Femi will receive 70% of the proceeds.

During Femi's time in the Lehigh Valley, his work has been featured in numerous solo and group shows, as well as exhibits thorughout the Northeast.  To say he has been a significant fixture in the art scene here would be an understatement.

We asked Femi to reflect on his time here.  The following is a message from him... 

"Chapters….

As a child, a childhood stutter with a click in my throat made spoken language an obstacle;  I learned that my most honest form of communication was visual. While my art foundation was growing up in Easton, the most profound artistic chapters were written in upstate NY and during fifteen years here in a downtown Allentown studio. Sustaining a creative practice in the heart of the city is a challenge, but the energy and immense support I have absorbed here forever fuels my creative spirit. I am deeply grateful to Allentown and the Lehigh Valley community for responding to my call, and I carry forward an artistic heart that was thoroughly nurtured by you.

ARTHAUS is located at 645 Hamilton St., in downtown Allentown.  Deborah Rabinsky is Curator and Co-Owner, Jon Clark is gallery manager.  Hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 11-6.  Call 610-841-4866 for information.
