With Houston's summer heat in full swing, we're embracing a little holiday spirit while making a big difference for our local environment. Bring your friends, family, and fellow community members as we work together to remove litter, improve bird habitats, and enjoy some fun winter-themed activities along the way.

Location: Arthur Storey Park: 7400 W. Sam Houston Pkwy S., Houston, TX, 77036

Date and Time : July 11, 2026,  8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

We'll be focusing on litter removal around the park, trails, and retention pond to help create healthier habitats for birds and other wildlife.

We have two volunteer opportunities for the day.

General Cleanup Volunteer - Cleanup trash in the area, no data collection required.

Data Collection Volunteer - Staff will lead a random bag sample with your help! You will be guided in proper protocol to collect & itemize trash. Arrive by 7:45am to learn how. No prior training required.

Waivers

All volunteers are required to sign a waiver before participating.

Please complete your digital waiver in advance to prevent any delays for the cleanup.

? Supplies

SPLASh will provide:

* Trash bags
* Grabbers
* Gloves
* Water refill station
* First aid supplies

Please wear:

* Closed-toe shoes
* Comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor conditions
* Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
* A reusable water bottle

⚠️ Safety & Cleanup Guidelines

Your safety is our top priority. Cleanup instructions and a safety briefing will be provided before the event, and staff will be available throughout the morning to assist volunteers.

We'll email all registered participants during the week before the cleanup with parking information, weather updates, and any important event details.

Please register with a valid email address and encourage everyone in your group to register individually so they receive the latest information.
