- **Event Description**: This year, our team is proud to take part in the Saltire 24 on Sat 20th June in support of two charities that are close to our hearts — Friends of ANCHOR and Alzheimer Scotland.

The Saltire 24 is a 24-hour endurance challenge held in Aberdeenshire, where individuals and teams push themselves to complete as many miles as possible over the course of the event.

Inspired by the teamwork and endurance behind the challenge, our office team will complete multiple laps of the course, each lap consisting of 4.2 miles on a fully marked off-road trail route around Knockburn Loch.

Vessel crews are coming together to hopefully complete a combined total of 100 miles miles each, consisting of 3000 laps of the main deck over the period of 1 week (15-21st June)

With our office staff aiming to complete a combined total of 200 miles and each of our 14 vessels aiming to hit 100 miles each, we hope to achieve a total distance of 1,600 miles.

This challenge is especially meaningful to us following the recent loss of one of our retired Masters to cancer. He was a respected colleague and friend who dedicated many years to the industry and to our team. In his memory, we wanted to support charities that provide care, support and comfort to so many individuals and families facing difficult times.

We previously raised funds for Friends of ANCHOR and saw first-hand the incredible support they provide to patients and families affected by cancer and haematology illnesses across the North of Scotland. Alongside this, Alzheimer Scotland continues to provide vital services, advice and support to people living with dementia and those closest to them.

The Saltire 24 challenge will bring together our vessel crews and our office staff in a shared effort to raise as much money as possible for these worthwhile causes.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help these charities continue their important work and make a positive impact on people’s lives.
