The Johnny Batchelor Party will return to the Golden Barley Hotel on Sunday, November 30, 6pm. This will be the last Golden Barley Sunday evening gig for the year and it’s gonna be special!
The evening will kick off with Phil Hall, bass player extraordinaire (Lime Spiders, Sardine v, Matt Finish & Dropbears, to name a few, and currently leading the bonafide super-group, The Hovering Spooks) presenting his solo show. Phil, often cast as the driving backbone, is also a superb songwriter and his innovative set is full of atmosphere, wit, musical genius ... and shades of steam-punk.
The Johnny Batchelor Party will then get cranking with their pop laden grooves. The latest tune from Johnny's album, Ain't Nobody, has continued the upward trend in international indie radio play and chart action achieved by previous tracks: Anemone was chosen among influential New York radio host Bill Kelly’s top 10 picks for 2024 (Little Steven’s Underground Garage), 7 tracks from the album have made the top 15 on the Radio Indie Alliance top 100 chart and Johnny’s quirky, no-budget videos for these tracks have had more than 520,000 YouTube views. From NY & LA to London & Enmore - you better get down and see what’s going on. It's gonna rock!
To make the night even specialer! Phil Hall, Johnny’s long time musical comrade, will be jumping in on bass (as JBP bassist Anthony is unable to make this one). This will mean a couple more Dropbears’ tracks being thrown in to the set. And just when you thought it couldn't get any specialer - a well known and much loved Aus-rock icon has promised to jump up for a couple of songs (we better not tell you who, or there’ll be a riot!).
Ohh ... and it's free!
